OVERVIEW & LEGAL HISTORY SUMMARY
Keith Caneiro (September 1968 – November 20, 2018) was a 50-year-old technology executive and entrepreneur residing in Colts Neck, New Jersey. He was the founder and CEO of Jay-Martin Consulting (Square One) and co-owner of Eco Prime Pest Control in Asbury Park, operating business ventures alongside his older brother, Paul Caneiro. Keith was married to Jennifer Karidis Caneiro, with whom he had two children, Jesse and Sophia. In November 2018, Keith discovered substantial financial irregularities and unauthorized withdrawals from corporate accounts managed by his brother. On November 19, 2018, Keith emailed Paul demanding an accounting of missing funds and announcing plans to sell one of their shared companies and eliminate Paul's stipend. In response, early on November 20, 2018, Paul traveled to Keith's Colts Neck estate and shot Keith five times—four in the head and one in the torso—killing him on his front lawn before murdering Keith's wife and children and setting fire to the estate. Keith's murder led to the criminal conviction of Paul Caneiro on May 19, 2026. Under New Jersey's Slayer Statute (N.J.S.A. 3B:7-1.1), Paul was legally disqualified from receiving any financial benefit or insurance payout from Keith's estate, preserving assets for surviving extended family members.
